A Message from the CEO: Why Unionizing Isn’t the Answer

25.9.2015

To the dedicated and hardworking employees of Happi,

I want to take a moment to address the topic of unionizing in the workplace. While I understand that some of you may feel that joining a union is the best way to improve your working conditions and achieve better wages, I urge you to consider the potential downsides of unionization.

First and foremost, unionizing can create divisions among employees and management, leading to an “us vs. them” mentality. This can erode trust and communication between the two groups and create an atmosphere of hostility and conflict.

In addition, unions can sometimes prioritize the interests of their members over the interests of the company as a whole, which can lead to decreased productivity and lower profits. And in some cases, union leaders may use their power to negotiate for unrealistic demands that are not in the best interest of the company or its employees.

At Happi, we believe in fostering a culture of collaboration and open communication between employees and management. We are committed to providing fair wages and benefits, safe working conditions, and opportunities for growth and advancement. And we believe that we can achieve these goals by working together, rather than through the adversarial approach of unionization.

So I urge you to consider the potential consequences of unionizing and to work with us to find solutions that benefit everyone. Let’s continue to build a company that we can all be proud of, and one that serves our customers, our community, and our employees in the best possible way.

Sincerely,

Eleonora Yu
